Welcome to Korea International
Model United Nations (KIMUN)

Welcome to the Korea International Model United Nations (KIMUN)—a premier platform where the world's future leaders come together to tackle the most pressing global challenges through diplomacy and dialogue.

The vision behind KIMUN was to create a space where young minds could come together at the table to discuss and address the complex issues facing the Korean Peninsula.

This year, KIMUN will provide a platform for high-stakes diplomacy and global collaboration as delegates engage in discussions on regional security, denuclearization, and humanitarian concerns. With an advanced committee discussing the “Peaceful Resolution on the Korean Peninsula”, delegates will explore innovative, sustainable solutions for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Join us for a transformative experience, where diplomacy meets innovation and young leaders shape the future of international relations.
Welcome to KIMUN—where the next generation of global changemakers begins their journey.

Welcome Remarks

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Aspiring Diplomats,

My name is Alexander Dietz, and it's my privilege to serve as Secretary-General for the Asia World Model United Nations XI, hosted this year in the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea.

I'm thrilled to officially welcome you to AWMUN XI co-hosting with KIMUN III. This conference celebrates diplomacy, collaboration, and young minds' incredible potential in addressing global challenges. From July 24 to 28, we'll come together to engage in meaningful discussions that reflect today's world's complexity and urgency. I quietly look forward to seeing the ideas and energy you bring.

This year, AWMUN XI features five carefully designed committees tackling distinct global issues and diplomatic scenarios. We're especially proud to include a committee dedicated to junior delegates, creating a welcoming environment for those new to Model UN to build their skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for international affairs.

Model UN goes beyond academic simulation. It's a chance to cultivate empathy, refine your critical thinking, and turn dialogue into action. As delegates, you'll grapple with challenging questions, debate purposefully, and strive to develop practical solutions. Most importantly, you'll learn to lead honestly, listen openly, and collaborate across diverse perspectives.

I encourage you to arrive not just well-researched and strategic but curious and respectful. Your openness to engage thoughtfully, push your own boundaries, and challenge others constructively will make this conference truly memorable. We're eager to see what you achieve in committees and witness the friendships, insights, and personal growth you'll experience along the way.

On behalf of the entire Secretariat, welcome AWMUNXI and KIMUN III collaborated conference. It's an honor to have you with us, and we can't wait to see your journey unfold in Seoul.

Warm regards,

Legacy of KIMUN

2023

The first Korea International Model United Nations (KIMUN) was founded by Korean Dream Crew members under the Global Peace Youth (GPY) initiative. It was established with the vision of providing a platform for young leaders to engage in meaningful discussions on the most pressing issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula. KIMUN serves as a space where aspiring diplomats and future policymakers can debate, collaborate, and propose innovative solutions to regional and global challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of diplomacy, peace, and unification efforts.

2024

For the second edition of KIMUN, we set higher expectations by strengthening our partnerships, most notably collaborating with the Ministry of Unification. A landmark achievement of this edition was the in- person submission of the final resolution, reinforcing the impact of youth-driven diplomacy. Additionally, we reached a significant milestone by submitting the resolution to UNESCAP in Bangkok, further extending our influence on international policy discussions and advancing the conversation on Korean Peninsula unification and regional stability.

2025 - FROM JULY 24TH TO 28TH

For KIMUN 2025, we are taking it to the next level by partnering with AWMUN, Asia's largest Model United Nations, to create an unparalleled diplomatic experience. With a 4-night, 5-day package, this edition will immerse delegates in high-level debates, interactive sessions, and real-world diplomatic simulations like never before. By combining KIMUN's regional focus with AWMUN's global reach, we aim to provide young leaders with the ultimate platform to engage in diplomacy at its finest, shaping the future of international dialogue and cooperation.
